Learning to teach the Arts at Murdoch

There are two parallel but distinct units for primary education students learning to teach the Arts:

  • For Graduate Diploma of Education (Primary) students: EDN227 Teaching the Arts and HPE in Primary Schools (Winter Term)

  • For Bachelor of Education students: EDN225/2251 Teaching the Arts in Primary Schools (Semester 2)

EDN227 Teaching the Arts and HPE in Primary Schools (Winter Term)

This unit runs from June 23 to July/August 2014. There are two components: The Arts and Health and Physical Education (HPE).

It begins with two weeks off-campus study through listening to lectures, completing readings and completing five Arts Challenges before the Intensive Week. This part of the unit runs concurrently with Professional Experience for most students and requires you to manage yor time effectively.

In 2014 the Intensive Week runs from Monday July 7 2014 to Friday July 11 2014. During the Intensive Week there are 5 arts workshops – one each for the five arts subjects.

After the Intensive Week students complete their Learning Journal.
